Open Privacy & security
Open Windows Settings, then select Privacy & security.
A Windows outbound firewall rule may be blocking Rhino. On a personal, unmanaged computer, follow this focused check without turning off your firewall or opening any ports.
These steps match the numbered path in the image above. Delete a rule only on your own unmanaged computer.
Open Windows Settings, then select Privacy & security.
Select Windows Security, then choose Open Windows Security.
In Windows Security, select Firewall & network protection. Keep the firewall switched on.
Select Advanced settings, approve the Windows prompt, and then select Outbound Rules in the left column.
Only on your own unmanaged computer: look for a rule that targets Rhino.exe and has its action set to Block. Open its properties to verify both details. Select only that rule, click Delete, and confirm. On a managed work or school computer, stop and contact your administrator.
Security guidance: Microsoft recommends changing a specific app or rule instead of turning off the firewall or opening a port. Read Microsoft Support.
